I wanted to review and share this obscure author who goes by the username Tirepanted I've been reading recently. His stories involve a lot of kidnapping, but it's not technically his focus so I'm really curious to see what you all will think of him.

Here's a link to all of his stories:

Background information: There's this forum called the Uniform Stealing Board where Tirepanted posts and it's entirely focused on scenes/art/stories about women having their clothing stolen and worn by another woman. For example: a spy is infiltrating a base, they knock out a guard, steal her uniform, leave the guard tied up in a closet, and continue on their mission. Their interest is pretty specific, but it is bondage/kidnapping/DID adjacent enough that it interests me (and hopefully one or two of you).

(This is a tangent, but I really enjoy the Hitman games and I've always thought that they would make a great format for a kidnapping themed game instead of the assassination sims they are. Tirepanted's work hit pretty close to what I imagine my fantasy game to be like.)

It's a simple formula, but Tirepanted takes it to a comically ridiculous extreme by stringing a massive number of these scenes together, with huge casts of characters pursuing separate motivations. Characters are constantly scheming, being betrayed, improvising, kidnapping and being kidnapped. The singular focus on clothes being stolen definitely gets repetitive for me since it's not my main interest, but I can't help but enjoy how over the top it becomes.

Tirepanted's stories are often told from multiple perspectives to create complex intertwining plots. Complex enough, I have to keep notes for some of his longer stories to keep all of the characters and their motivations/relationships straight.

The captures mainly consist of Saturday-morning-cartoon style takedowns. A Judo chop to the victims neck, a chloroform nap, or being yanked into a closet for some off-camera punches followed our protagonist stepping out wearing the victim's clothes. Some guns are occasionally pointed at characters and bombs are set, but that's the extent of the violence.

The bondage in his stories tends to be quite simple. Usually just some rope, tape, or electrical wires tied around wrists and ankles, and cloth or tape OTM gags. sometimes the bondage is just described as "she tied her up with some clothesline and rags." and left at that.

One of my favorite aspects of his stories is the way "good" characters are willing to mug other women for their clothing. A reporter trying to get her story will steal an innocent maid's uniform to enter a mansion, or a police detective commandeers a runner's outfit to blend in at a marathon, and in both cases the uniform doner is left bound, gagged, and hidden without a second thought by characters who aren't presented as "bad." I just love morally grey characters who pursue their own interests guilt-free. In many of the stories there are characters who are forced to reluctantly steal some clothes who later becomes prolific uniform stealers in their own right and the transformation is a beautiful thing to watch.

Here's an excerpt of some of the "good" characters from his story To Steal a Spacesuit Vol 2 Discovering a bound woman in their friend's closet and casually moving on:

"

"Nerdier than you?" Felicia said with a laugh, swinging open the closet door. "That's pretty unlikel- hey!"

She stood, dumbfounded, staring into the closet. A few coats were hanging off to one side, and two pairs of old shoes lay in the corner. But that wasn't what gave her pause. No, it was the fact that there was currently a chair in the closet, upon which was seated a pretty girl of Indian or Pakistani descent. The girl was clad only in her pink satin bra and panties. Her wrists were duct-taped to the armrests, and her ankles equally secured to the two front legs. A layer of tape covered her mouth.

Felicia turned to Bridget. "Friend of yours?"

Bridget sighed. "Long story."

The woman was conscious, but clearly confused and afraid. She whimpered into her gag and struggled against her tight bonds.

Despite her sleeplessness, Bobbi stifled a chuckle. "So while we were up late watching cheesy horror movies, you were busy tying up pretty ladies and stuffing them into your closet? Sounds like I got the short end of that deal."

"Hey!" Felicia protested. She shut the closet door, muffling the cries from within. "We've tied up plenty of pretty ladies together. Just last week, there were those two park rangers..."

"

The first story of his I read called Thirty Maidens All in a Row stars a slaver named Miranda who receives an order for 30 ladies. Miranda collects the ladies in an improvised marathon kidnapping spree, repeatedly stealing her victims clothes to use as disguises to capture the next set of women. This is a much simpler story than some of his later ones, so I think it's a great starting point. I highly recommend it!

If slavery isn't your thing, his later To Steal a Spacesuit series follows the exploits of intrepid reporter Bridget Baxter and friends as they investigate the many shady business women, saboteurs for hire, and greedy scientists in Florida. I'm currently reading Volume 5 of 7 in this novel-length series and having a great time. this series is one of his more complex ones, so keep that in mind.

As a side note, I discovered Tirepanted and the Uniform Stealing Board in general through the illustrations of esercitosconfitto who seems to run the USB as far as I can tell. He has a really unique art style and illustrates Tirepanted's stories really well. Check them out:

That's the review! Thanks for hanging out and a special thanks to Tirepanted for sharing his writing with the world.

Go read some of his work and comment your thoughts below!

Another question; what do you think of the "Uniform Stealing" trope in general?
