Mnrtrtin women died when the car they were riding in careened off a wet highway and submerged in a rain-swollen ditch state police reported Saturday Margaretta Batts and Ira Nell White were killed in the accident late Friday on Arkansas 35 about two miles west of Dermott authorities said The two women were passengers in a car that went out of control when it hit rainwater standing in a low-lying stretch of the highway The car ran into a ditch and submerged state police said The driver Edward Ridell 41 of Warren managed to get out of the car but the two women did not authorities said A state police report said the occupants of the car had been wearing i belts Ridell was in good condition Saturday at Dermott-Chicot Memorial Hospital a hospital spokesman said Dermott ambulance driver Greg
