Should there be a Palestinian state? There were “security guarantees” on October 6. The massacre of October 7 is what “security guarantees” look like.Doing the same thing over and over and expecting the different results is insanity.75% of Palestinians want a Palestinian-only state that completely replaces Israel; 72% support the October 7 massacre, and the PA government supported and helped fund it.If the world is prepared to make the massive investment it did after World War II, including total victory, fully dismantling prior governments, years of intense re-education, and putting every person connected to terror on trial, then maybe, just maybe, we could achieve an outcome like post-war Japan and Germany.Anything less will produce another Iraq or Afghanistan. For a more complete discussion see my in-depth article in The Hill (link below) or this brief segment below from i24NEWS The Hill: https://lnkd.in/dJGihgkD

Hey Israel, can you tell us why are you treating Palestinian hostages so badly when your hostages are shaking Khamas hands and smiling. Israel: You didn't know? Khamas gave those hostages tranquillizers and other vitamins so they can smile. Cool, what about the investigations proving that your tanks bombed hundreds of Israeli cars and you blamed it on Khamas. Can we look into that?Israel: No. We are chopping the cars to a million pieces and burying them. We're not burying evidence. We're doing this out of respect to the dead. Alright, how about we take a quick look at those videos you have along the highly secure walls and fences to see all the atrocities Khamas did?Israel: What? Oh those got deleted. We don't know how. Maybe the dog ate them.Fine. We're sending a team to investigate your claims of Khamas raping women and beheading babies.Israel: No. We will not cooperate. Just believe us. Also just a heads up, our Israeli military rabbi permits raping Palestinian women during war. Ummm. Would you at least stop killing civilians?America: We have seen no evidence of killing civilians.#gazagenocide #gazachildren

Today, across the nation, we gather not just to remember the fallen heroes of our Armed Forces, but to reaffirm our shared resolve to the ideals they championed. Their unyielding bravery, their selfless sacrifice, and their determination to keep this nation safe are their legacy. But this legacy demands more than remembrance. It demands action. It demands that we forge a brighter future for which they paid the ultimate price. It demands building a nation worthy of the blood and sweat of our men and women in uniform— and their families. It demands a nation where peace reigns, where justice prevails — and where the mantle of progress they bore is carried forward with purpose.Yes, this is why today should not just be about honouring the memories of our heroes, it should be about recommitting ourselves to building a new Nigeria that is more unified, prosperous, and secure.May the Almighty continue to protect our men and women in uniform against the forces that are waging wars against our country.Happy #ArmedForcesRemembranceDay#ThankASoldier

Israel is committing genocide with our government’s help and has now killed OVER 25,000 WOMEN & CHILDREN in under 5 months. That is according to our own U.S. military: https://lnkd.in/gtQtw9zc And can Israel really be trying not to harm civilians if 70% of those killed are women & children, & over 85% are civilians? This is obviously ethnic cleansing & genocide.Israel has also orphaned over 30,000 more Palestinian children, & has made around 1 MILLION CHILDREN homeless during winter. And Israel is still blocking aid to these children, killing them with starvation, dehydration, & disease, in addition to U.S. supplied bombs.I also cry for the 36 innocent Israeli children killed on October 7th, but this horrible conflict did NOT start on that day. The proof is the nearly 2300 Palestinian children Israeli soldiers and settlers killed between the year 2000 and October 2023, including 43 children during the 9 months just before October 7th (all names & details documented on BTselem.org).Israel has also imposed a brutal 57 year occupation/apartheid on Palestinians, as well as a brutal blockade of Gaza since 2005. Both are illegal under international law, immoral, and ongoing acts of war.PLEASE WRITE & CALL YOUR REPRESENTATIVES & the White House to demand they stop helping Israel kill & starve children, commit war crimes, & maintain its brutal & racist apartheid, with our tax dollars. What would you do if someone stole your house and livelihood, killed some of your family, and left the rest of you with nothing to live in the squalor of a refugee camp, where your children were still not safe from Israeli bombs, bullets, and boots? Because that is what Israel did to over 750,000 Palestinians in 1948, over 300,000 in 1967, and over 250,000 since then, and more every year. Most of the families in Gaza owned homes, farms, or shops where Israeli cities and towns now stand, which Israel literally stole from them. Many still even have the keys to their homes, and some homes still stand with Jewish immigrants living in them today.Palestinians have been trying to protest peacefully for decades, but when they do, Israeli soldiers shoot them in the knees, kill them, or at least imprison and beat them.If you don't believe it, please google this 2020 Haaretz article titled: '42 Knees in One Day': Israeli Snipers Open Up About Shooting Gaza Protesters. It describes how IDF snipers would shoot many peaceful protesters in the kneecaps and ankles to cripple them, while shooting and killing many others, including journalists and medics. And if you still believe the lie that Israel has offered Palestinians many generous peace deals that they keep rejecting, please read and share this article:https://lnkd.in/g2_EV6dV

Way out: -1- Ceasefire now! -2- Use the humanitarian corridors to assist all civilians with their evacuation to the south and supply aid -3- Eradicate the military infrastructure of Hamas -4- Make sure all people can return home, this includes freeing the hostages -5- Start peace-building and address the root-causes by creating non-violent interaction and dialog between the non-radical majorities on both sides, leading to mutual understanding and empathy. -6- Live in a situation of sustainable peace together. www.pax.ngo (Europe after WWII shows that this is a possible scenario).

WHAT IS GOING ON WITH THE TALIBAN AND POPPY PRODUCTION? The article below was a complete surprise and doing a little digging has been very difficult to figure out the context for the Taliban's 2022 declaration on a ban on Poppy production. For a criminal enterprise that financed its insurgency in Afghanistan largely through the cultivation and distribution of Poppys and Heroin, the decision to significantly curtail Poppy production and the effectiveness of that ban is shocking. The UN Office of Drug and Crime estimates that Poppy production in Afghanistan was reduced by 99% in the 2022-2023 growing season.I have been unable to find Taliban official statements on the ban or really any analysis of what this means both for Afghanistan or for the world trade in Heroin. The article states that it is traditionally hard to maintain an opium ban for more than a year as economic hardship becomes worse, but I will be keeping an eye out for any analysis I can find to see what the follow on effects will be. #afghanistan #taliban #opiumban

The U.S. and its allies have found themselves battling al Qaeda and Islamic State fighters at a bloody crossroads of wildlife, insurgency, geopolitics and military coups in West Africa's national parks, including Pendjari National Park, which is home to thousands of elephants, herds of antelope, and the last few West African cheetahs. The park is spread across remote areas of Benin, Niger, and Burkina Faso, and is the largest surviving protected wilderness in West Africa, covering 4.2 million acres. Washington is increasingly worried the Islamist insurgency that has engulfed Mali, Burkina Faso and Niger will undermine Benin and other relatively prosperous, pro-Western states along the Gulf of Guinea, so U.S. Special Forces have been stationed in Benin to gather intelligence and advise the local military on counterinsurgency operations.Read more from The Wall Street Journal. #alqaeda | #islamicmilitants | #insurgents | #insurgency | #westafrica | #militarycoups | #geopolitics | #PendjariNationalPark | #counterinsurgency | #Benin | #Mali | #BurkinaFaso | #Niger | #GulfofGuinea

The largest flow of weapons and explosives reaching the hands of Haitian 🇭🇹 gangs originates from the United States 🇺🇸, particularly from the state of #Florida, and in much smaller quantities, from the #DominicanRepublic 🇩🇴. But something is changing; there is a noticeable decrease in the prevalence of Glocks and AR15s. Instead, there is now an influx of Barret 50, fragmentation grenades, encrypted satellite communication, and surveillance drones."
