RDM Gannett Westchester April 12, 1986 A Saul Turrell, award-winning film Saul J. Turell, an Academy Award-winning motion picture and television, Rochelle producer, Hospital died Thursday Medical Center after a long illness. He was 65 and had lived in New Rochelle since the early 1950s. Mr. Turell's documentary film "Paul Robeson: Tribute to an Artist" won an Academy Award in 1980.

He received a commendation from the New Rochelle City Council for his achievement. In 1959-60, Mr. Turell wrote, produced and directed "Silents Please," a series of 31 network shows for ABC. In the late 1970s, he wrote and co-produced "The Art of Film," a six-volume series narrated by Rod Serling. With Graeme Ferguson, he wrote and directed the feature film "'The Love Goddesses." Mr.

Turell began making films in 1946, when he and Leonard Feldman founded Sterling Films. He was also a founder of Sterling Communications, which later became Manhattan Cable. With David Wolper, he formed Wolper-Sterling and with Hearst Metrotone News, the Screen News Digest, a -film program. In 1961, the Sterling company merged with the Walter Reade interests to form Walter Reade-Sterling, of which Mr. Turell became James F.

Farrington Sr. James F. Farrington a retired foreman with the White Plains Highway Department, died Friday at St. Agnes Hospital, White Plains, after a short illness. He was 70 and had lived at 7 Virgina Road in North White Plains.

He was born July 14, 1915, in White Plains, to Eunice Schaff and Stephen Farrington. Mr. Ferrington reitred from the White Plains Highway Department five years ago. He is survived by his wife, Ruth Voyce Farrington of the home address; his sons, James of Port Chester, Ard of Rye and David of Mount Vernon; his daughter, Jacklee Conney of North White Plains; seven grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter. Fedorka Hazel T. Fedorka, a longtime area resident, died Friday at Greenwich (Conn.) Hospital after a brief illness. She was 83. Born Sept. 20, 1902, to Gilbert and Minnie Westlake Turner in Greenwich, she resided at various times in her life in Port Chester, Harrison, Rye, Patterson and Farmersville, Calif.

She worked in her home, where she enjoyed playing with a number of animals, most recently a mixedbreed dog named Gidget. Mrs. Fedorka is survived by two daughters, Marian Hurley of Greenwich, with whom she most recently resided, and Dorothy Elvgren of Farmersville, a son, C. G. Fedorka of East Arlington, five grandchildren; and three greatgrandchildren.

Her husband, Stephen J. Fedorka, died in 1959; a sister, Viola Moe Backman, died in 1984. Elsie R. Pattison Elsie R. Pattison, a former White Plains resident, died Monday at the Tarpon Springs General Hospital in Dunedin, Fla.

She was 77. Mrs. Pattison, who was born Elsie Martin in Brooklyn on Feb. 11, 1909, was active in the White Plains Woman's Club and belonged to the Westchester Hills Golf Club. She and her husband, E.

Scott Pattison, lived on 10 Cobb Ave. from 1941 to 1971. A graduate of Hunter College, Mrs. Pattison was a member of the American Association of University Women. In Dunedin, Mrs.

Pattison was a member of the Dunedin Country Club and two arts organizations: the Musical Arts Society and the Dunedin Fine Arts and Cultural Center, where she served as a volunteer for the Trident Gallery Shop. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Pattison is survived by three sisters, Ruth West, Grace West and Marion Martin of Dunedin; a son, Stuart S. of Raleigh, N.C.; a daughter, Gail R. Blackmer of Sarasota, and four grandchildren.

Daley, a former resident of Yonkers and Ardsley, died Wednesday at her home in Stamford, N.Y. She was 90. Born Dec. 29, 1895, in Newark, N.J., she was the daughter of August and Louise (Roller) Egloff. Mrs.

Daley spent most of her early years in the Nepera Park section of Yonkers. In 1932, she June Carlson June Carlson, a 57-year White Plains resident who recently moved to New Rochelle, died Thursday at United Hospital in Port Chester after a long illness. She was 57. She was born to Edward and Ella Carpenter Gilbert in White Plains on July 6, 1928. Mrs.

Carlson graduated from White Plains High School. She was a parishioner of St. Anthony's Roman Bartholomeo Varvara Bartholomeo Varvara, a former 64-year Eastchester resident and a retired electrical contractor, died Tuesday at a hospital in Sunrise, after a brief illness. He was 68. Mr.

Varvara owned Bart's Electric formerly of 25 Hall Eastchester, for 38 years until he retired in 1984. He was a member of the Eastchester Electrical Board. He was born to Ignazio and Josephine Forte Varvara in New York City Oct. 16, 1917. The family moved to Eastchester when he was 4.

He attended public schools in Eastchester. Frank A. Spatafore Frank A. Spatafore, a retired facility manager and former 53- year Tuckahoe resident, died Tuesday at a hospital in Naples, Fla. He was 67.

Mr. Spatafore worked 24 years for American Cystoscope a Stamford company that manufactures medical instruments for hospitals. He retired last year. He was born Nov. 14, 1918, in Tuckahoe, the son of Pasquale and Maria Ciarlo Spatafore.

He graduated from Tuckahoe High School and attended Delahante Institute, an aircraft school then located in New York City. While living in Tuckahoe, he was Robert T. Cassidy Robert T. Cassidy, a former financial executive in the aerospace and health-care industries and a 12- year resident of Thornwood, died at home Thursday of a pulmonary edema after a long illness. He was 63.

He retiredin 1982 from a 30-year career and most recently served as vice president of financial affairs for Cornwall Memorial Hospital. Previously, he served as vice president and treasurer for the Kearfott Company, treasurer of the New York Medical College, treasurer of Flower and Fifth Avenue Hospital, vice president of financial Ulric R. Jaeger Ulric R. Jaeger, a childhood resident of Mamaroneck who later lived in White Plains, died Thursday at the Barnett Health Care Facility in Bridgeport, after a brief illness. He was 73.

He was born Sept. 14, 1912, in Brooklyn, to Richard and Maria Bogel Jaeger. The family moved to Mamaroneck, where he attended public schools. He received a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, N.Y. In 1936, he married Muriel Leeney.

The couple lived in Chicago before moving to White Plains. Noel F. Sultzer Noel F. Sultzer, a retired telephone installer, died Friday at St. Agnes Hospital in White Plains after a short illness.

He was 65 and had lived at 7 Orchard Drive in White Plains. He was born June 6, 1920, in Yonkers, to Marguerite Hunt and Carl Sultzer. He had lived in White Plains for the past 23 years. Mr. Sultzer had been a telephone installer with New York Telephone Co.

for 30 years, retiring three years ago. Mr. Sultzer was a member of the Scarsdale Elks Club and a trust- moved to Ardsley, where she was a member of St. Barnabas Episcopal Church. Her husband, Joseph C.

Daley, died in 1950. Surviving are two daughters, Ruth (Mrs. Arthur) Hartman of Stamford and Ann (Mrs. Bernard) Tolzman of Thiensville, and six grandchildren. Catholic Church in West Harrison.

She moved to New Rochelle several months ago. Mrs. Carlson is survived by her mother, of White Plains; her daughters, April Gilbert of West Harrison, Star and Coral Carlson, both Ossining, and Tanya Carlson of Dover Plains, N.Y.; her sister, Norma O'Brien of White Plains; and her grandson. During World War II, Mr. Varvara served as a sergeant in the Army and was stationed in Europe.

He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Sam DiRienzo Post of Eastchester. He was a parishioner of the Immaculate Conception Church in Tuckahoe. Mr. Varvara moved from 67 Highland Ave. to Florida last year.

Survivors include his wife, the former Carmel Pelchat of Sunrise, his daughter, Janice Romano of Eastchester; his brother, Peter of Eastchester; his sister, Vincenza Forte of Eastchester; and his grandson. a member of the Eastchester Volunteer Fire Department Patrol Company 1. Mr. Spatafore was a parishioner of the Assumption Church, where he was married June 28, 1942, to the former Eugenia Scaringi. In 1971, Mr.

Spatafore moved from 18 Wallace St. to New Fairfield, where he lived 14 years. He relocated to Naples last year. In addition to his wife, Mr. Spatafore is survived by three brothers, Ralph of Brentwood, L.I., Alfred of Eastchester and Ernest of New Rochelle; and a sister, Elvira Perrotta of the Bronx.

A brother, Paul, died in 1970. affairs for Tuxedo Parks Hospital and treasurer of the Westchester Health Foundation. He was a cum laude graduate of Fordham University. He was born Sept. 6, Manhattan and served i in the U.S.

Navy during World War II. In addition to his wife, Marian, Mr. Cassidy is survived by four sons, Robert of Waldwick, N.J., Joseph of Greenfield, John of Buffalo, N.Y., and Edward Thornwood; a daughter, Marie of Montrose; a sister, Mary Fahy of Wanaque, N.J.; and seven grandchildren. They moved to Alton, Ill. in 1955, and in 1964 they moved to Greenwich, Conn.

Mr. Jaeger worked for the Olin Corp. in New Haven, and New York from 1955 until retiring in 1968 as sales manager of the company's Porobond sales division. A member of the American Society of Metals, Mr. Jaeger also was a member of the New Canaan Men's Club.

In addition to his daughter, Mr. Jaeger is survived by a son, Dick of Atlanta; a sister, Ingeborg Childs of Larchmont; and a granddaughter. His wife died in 1967. ee of the New Rochelle Rowing Club. He was a supporter of the Hargrave Military Academy in Chatham, Va.

He was an Army veteran of World War II and had recieved the Good Service, Good Conduct and Victory medals. Mr. Sultzer was a member of the Crescent Place Reform Church in Yonkers. He is surived by his wife, Hilda Abbott Sultzer of the home address; his sons, Brian of Massachusetts and Raymond of White Plains; and two grandchildren.
