Looking for Business Checking Account with Both Personal and Business Name on Statement
I need a new business checking account that meets an unusual requirement. I need a checking account that has BOTH my BUSINESS NAME and PERSONAL NAME on its statements. I have a checking account with BofA and it only has my business name, but apparently some banks have both. A nice-to-have is it having no maintanence fees, as it won't become my primary checking account so won't have enough activity to waive the fees.
The reason for this is, my business does a few different things, one of which is selling on Amazon. Amazon has some weird policies about determining the legal entity associated with the business and verifying their bank account information. As a SMLLC who's disregareded for federal tax purposes, the tax form they have on file is W-9. They use the tax form they have to determine the name of the entity, which is my personal name. They disregard the DBA portion of the tax form. They don't let SMLLCs enter their LLC names anywhere else (lots of angry people about this, but they don't care). They also make us verify bank account ownership by uploading a bank statement. They don't accept any other document and the robo-CS is not helpful. They need the name on the statement to match the legal entity name (my personal name because of Amazon-logic) to match. Because of this, I'm using a personal account, which is definitely not ideal. Reading seller forums and Reddit, looks like bank statements that show both names are accepted by our Amazon overlords, so I'm looking for a checking account like that.

Thanks.
No US Bank in Texas unfortunately. IINM they don't let customers from states without branches open checking accounts, unless they have a prior relationship (I don't).
Chase sounds promising, but I'll wait for someone with an LLC account to confirm to be safe.
Does anyone know if Amex checking account statements show both names on statements?

I think you can get around the geofence with a (1 month?) CD or a self-directed investment account
as for amex, my sole prop biz checking statement only shows biz name and not both names, somebody with an LLC should be able to chime in, but I feel it will just show biz name

Re: Looking for Business Checking Account with Both Personal and Business Name on Statement
This issue is because you don't have a seperate Tax ID for your business, is that correct ?
Operating as an S-corp / LLC my biz checking ( NFCU ) only shows the my LLC name as the account is under this Tax ID versus my SSN.

No, my LLC has an EIN. It's because it's taxed as SP (disregarded LLC). Sole propreitors (including disregarded LLCs) fill W-9, S-Corps fill a different form.

All entities fill out a W9, it's just how it is filled out that differs.
Prior to changing my entity treatment from SMLLC to an LLC taxed as an S-Corp I still filled out the entity on line 1 and never had an issue. Not saying I reccomend this but that is how I did it and it was never an issue.
My LLC account with Chase shows only the LLC name.

Re: Looking for Business Checking Account with Both Personal and Business Name on Statement
Just double checked mine here in Texas and PNC also just shows my LLC on the statements without my name.
Though I do use my LLC as a pass-thru entity when filing every year as self employeed / controlling manager of the LLC. Using EIN + SSN + Same address.
I've never had any issues. Knock on wood.
Sounds like Amazon is complicated. Glad I don't run anything through them.
Maybe add an alternative platform that's more flexible than Amazon and slowly transition?

Re: Looking for Business Checking Account with Both Personal and Business Name on Statement
I've an LLC account with Chase and it shows by the business name and my name. I've attached a photograph and left parts of the statement information so you can see. First line is business name, second line is my name, thrid and fourth lines are the address.

I sell on other platforms too (most of my business is elsewhere), but dropping Amazon isn't a good idea for my business at this point. Maybe some day.
